Jerrod D. Patterson
Jerrod graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Social Work (Hon) and Juris Doctor (Law). He was called to the bar in June 2018. Jerrod completed his articles at a prominent family law firm in Toronto that specializes in all areas of family law. A Windsor native, Jerrod returned to Windsor to join Kamin Fisher in January 2019.
Jerrod was first exposed to family law working at a supervised access centre for separated families. During law school, he volunteered with the Family Law Project at the Windsor Ontario Court of Justice and participated in the Walsh Family Moot at the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Jerrod practices in all areas of family law, including:
- Negotiation of marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements and separation agreements;
- Custody and access negotiations and disputes;
- Mobility matters;
- Cross-border parenting matters;
- Complex income issues;
- Property division;
- Corporate and family law issues, including oppression claims;
- Spousal support;
- Child support;
Jerrod approaches each case in a way that is financially proportionate and fitting for his client’s unique issues. He practices at all levels of court in the Province of Ontario and represents clients in negotiation, mediation and arbitration proceedings. Jerrod’s court experience allows him to effectively advocate for his clients when matters cannot be resolved through negotiation.
